Worcester Golf Club is a scenic 18-hole championship course located in the Breede River Valley, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Brandwacht Mountains. Designed by Gary Player with input from Peter Matkovich, the course blends parkland and links-style elements into what is often described as a “Karoo parkland” layout. Golfers are treated to panoramic views of the valley while navigating a course that combines lush fairways with rugged, semi-arid surroundings, enhanced by indigenous vegetation, water hazards, and carefully shaped greens.
The course is known for its strategic design, featuring risk-and-reward holes, well-maintained bentgrass greens, and a layout that challenges both precision and shot-making ability. Large water features, undulating greens, and creative hole designs, such as carries over water and shared greens, add variety and difficulty. Beyond the course, the club offers practice facilities, a pro shop, and a welcoming clubhouse with bar and event spaces, making it both a competitive golfing venue and a relaxed social destination in the Western Cape
