Perched high above the coastline in Knysna, Pezula Golf Club is one of South Africa’s most visually dramatic golf courses, set across rugged clifftops overlooking both the Indian Ocean and the Knysna Lagoon. Designed by Ronald Fream and David Dale, the championship layout stretches across rolling coastal terrain shaped by ravines, ridgelines, and natural fynbos vegetation. The course offers constantly shifting perspectives, with fairways that trace the contours of the land and elevated tees that reveal sweeping ocean vistas, making every hole as scenic as it is memorable.

Strategically, Pezula presents a varied and engaging test, combining bold risk-and-reward opportunities with the demands of elevation change and coastal winds. The front nine plays more inland with views over the lagoon, while the back nine moves closer to the cliffs, where holes dramatically descend toward the ocean and require precise shot-making. Signature par threes and short par fours tempt aggressive play, but the natural terrain and ever-present wind ensure that thoughtful course management is key to scoring well. The result is a course that balances challenge and playability, delivering a dynamic round shaped as much by its spectacular setting as by its design.
