Golf de Pals is one of Spain’s most historic and atmospheric golf courses, located on the Costa Brava and set within a vast pine forest near the Mediterranean. Opened in 1966 and designed by F.W. Hawtree, it was the first golf course in the region and has since become a benchmark for traditional course design. Built across natural dunes and surrounded by mature pines, the course offers a unique setting where the landscape has been carefully preserved, creating a tranquil and authentic golfing environment.

The 18-hole, par 73 layout is known for its strategic challenge, with narrow fairways lined by tall pines, deep bunkers protecting the greens, and subtle undulations throughout. The front nine demands precision with tighter holes and doglegs, while the back nine opens slightly, offering longer holes and more generous fairways. Accuracy and course management are essential, as the design rewards control over power. With its combination of technical difficulty, natural beauty, and historical significance, including hosting the 1972 Spanish Open, the course remains one of the most respected and enjoyable golfing experiences in Catalonia.
