Located in the Valescure district of Saint-Raphaël at the foot of the red-rock Massif de l’Estérel, Golf de l’Estérel is one of the French Riviera’s classic resort golf destinations. Designed in 1987 by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., the 18-hole championship course winds through dense umbrella pine forests and rolling Mediterranean terrain, creating a layout that feels secluded despite being only minutes from the coast. The property also includes a 9-hole academy course designed by Jeremy Pern, extensive practice facilities, and close proximity to Riviera resorts, beaches, and marinas, making it a highly convenient base for traveling golfers.

For golf travelers, Estérel is known for combining strategic championship golf with the relaxed atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur. The course features pronounced elevation changes, narrow pine-lined fairways, water hazards, and tightly protected greens that place a premium on precision and course management rather than pure distance. Recent renovations led by Alejandro Reyes, known for work connected to Ryder Cup venues in France and Italy, have modernized the bunkers, irrigation, and conditioning standards, restoring the course to a more international-caliber presentation. Its location only about 30 minutes from Cannes and near other major Riviera layouts such as Terre Blanche, Cannes-Mougins, and Sainte-Maxime makes it a natural inclusion on a South of France golf itinerary.
