Set high above the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Golf Bluegreen Sainte-Maxime is one of the Riviera’s most scenic resort golf experiences, combining dramatic Mediterranean views with rugged Provençal terrain. Designed by Peter and Don Harradine and opened in 1991, the 18-hole course stretches across rolling hills covered in umbrella pines, cork oak forests, and fragrant garrigue. Nearly every stretch of the routing offers panoramic views toward Saint-Tropez, the Massif des Maures, and the Esterel mountains, giving the course a distinctly southern French atmosphere that feels both relaxed and visually spectacular.

For golf travelers, Sainte-Maxime stands out as a highly playable yet strategic Riviera course that rewards positioning and course management more than raw power. The front nine features elevation changes, sidehill lies, water hazards, and aerial tee shots descending toward the coastline before climbing back to the clubhouse, while the back nine opens onto elevated plateaus with some of the best views in Côte d’Azur golf. The club is also known for excellent practice facilities, a lively and welcoming atmosphere, and a strong sustainability reputation as the first golf course in France irrigated entirely with recycled treated water. Its location close to Saint-Tropez, Cannes, and several premier Riviera golf destinations makes it a natural stop on a South of France golf itinerary.
